I build backend services that have to stay fast under heavy traffic. For the last ten years that has meant ad exchanges, billing statistics and data pipelines, mostly in Go, with C++ where it mattered.
My last core team served about 500k requests per second with a few milliseconds per request. Most of my work there was profiling, cutting GC pauses, and turning analytics into features that ran inside that budget.
2022 – 2025
Go developer in the core team of a banner exchange platform. Time-sensitive services for data enrichment, user matching, geo tagging, fraud detection and banner rotation. Profiled with pprof and perf, reduced GC pauses, shipped browser fingerprinting and geo tagging for proxied users. Statistics and price optimisation on big data, analytics in SQL. Go, Python, SQL.
2019 – 2022
Ads statistics department. Aggregates for billing on the largest ads system in Russia, data enrichment in performance-critical C++, analytics, and the ops side: fault tolerance across clusters, L3/L7 balancing, CI/CD tooling in a monorepo. Supported Wordstat. Go, C++, Python.

System services and integration for a medical product company: custom routing, proxies, queues and message passing, internal CRM. Go.

Apache Ignite distributed cache in production at the largest Russian bank. JVM profiling and tuning, post mortems, debugging and fixes, liaison between the core team and the bank's administrators. Java.

Microservices on AWS with gRPC and Protobuf. Java, Kotlin.

Started as a systems administrator, moved into development, built the internal inventory control system. Java.

I sail. I hold a Patron de Yate licence in Spain and an RYA Offshore Yachtmaster certificate from the UK, and I skipper day charters out of Port Olímpic in Barcelona.
Same habit as at work: plan the passage, watch the numbers, keep a margin.
